Leon's Brochure History
Lyon was born in Wellland, Ontario, near the U.S. fresco weekly flyer border in Niagara. Founded by Abraham Leon, who migrated to Lebanon, he started as a door seller. They were able to open business with their profits in 1909. The original store was dry outlet, but later they turned to furniture sales.
Lyon's original store was primarily engaged by her family. When she died in 1942, she left the company with her children. After extending the original location, they built a new store in southwest Ontario.
Over the next decades, the company moved to the Toronto area, bought several stores in the city and later changed them to Lyon. The company opened to the public in 1969, opened the first warehouse in 1973 and proved to be the only one in Canada.
